THE LOST TRIBES OF ISRAEL

The Lost Tribes of Israel have been a fascinating story to many peoples. For hundreds of years many Jewish Rabbis talked about their lost brothers and sisters, but the real facts is hard to find, as the tost never knew that they were lost. So for those who search for them, they are still a mystery. But the Holy Book speaks of the Lost, many Prophets even predict that the lost will be found. Even Jesus came for which that was lost, so Yashua/Jesus will find that which was lost is the belief of many Biblical Scholars.

Let us first look to the organization who is playing a major roll to the highlighting of the lost tribes of Israel outside the State of Israel.

Chhinlung Israel People Convention (C.I.P.C.) is a Non-Government Organization (N.G.O), registered with the Government of India. CIPC has its General Headquarters at Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram state in the Northeast .India. The organization also has its branches in the neighboring countries of Myanmar {formerly Burma) and Bangladesh the areas populated by the Kuki-Chin-Mizo or the Chhinlung Chhuak, the name given to us by our Ancestor and which mean "people who come out of a cave". We shall be discussing this in brief history outline in another section of the website. Chhinlung Israel People Convention (C.I.P.C.) was established on the 7th of July, 1994. It came to be a common non-political platform - a forum for the people of Chhinlung Chhuak, who claim through their long lost history and with Customs before the advent of Christianity that are similar and same as the old Jewish Biblical Customs, and a belief that we are the descendent of the Lost Tribe of Israel, sons of Joseph born in Egypt, his sons Ephraim (Eraphem) an Mannashe (Manmasi). So the name of our forefathers Ephraim and Mannashe are always mentioned in sacrificial as well as in many rituals long before the advent of Christianity in 1894. Even to this day, there are still some rituals that many of our old people still believe in its value and practice as good omens.

The Chhinlung - Israel People Convention (CIPC) also submitted a memorandum to the United Nations (UNO) through the Secretary General on the 10th February, 1998 for the restoration of our basic human rights, so as to declare us as the lost tribe of Israel, of the tribe of Mannashe and Ephraim, of which we already received an acknowledgement of receipt by the Support and Service Branch of High Commission for Human Rights, Geneva.

On the 28th October, 1999, the Chhinlung - Israel People Convention (CIPC) held an identity Referendum at Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram state, India in which delegates from various areas of the Chhinlung Chhuak (Chhinlung People) in three neighboring countries - Myanmar, Bangladesh and India, came to participate in this Identity Referendum. The Ex-Chief Minister of Mizoram State, Mr. Lalthanhawla was the Chief Guest on this occasion. The delegations from the three countries at this Identity Referendum proclaimed to the world that they are the true descendents of the lost tribe of Israel - lost from the year 720 B.C. to this day.

We speak of three countries - Myanmar, Bangladesh and India, because we were subjugated and our lands were occupied by the British. So for better administration of the British India and British Burma, our people were divided in the three countries as you will see and read it in our MEMORANDUM letter and in the ANNEXTURE section. So we were a distinct people different from those in India and Myanmar (Burma). As the then occupying force, British in its time with its many records also prove the truth of our people, being of a very different race compared with the people of India and Burma (now Myanmar). So our land is described by political leaders like Nehru, Winston Churchill, etc as the land between India and Burma, and it was classified under Buckingham Palace Court Order 1936-on 3rd March, 1936 as Excluded Areas. So the question of our people is justified by itself as to who we really are and also taking into context the Indian Independent Acts passed by the British Government. It is very clear as to the status of our country before India's Independence.
