AN EYE OPENER FOR THE HISTORY OF
THE LOST TRIBES OF ISRAEL
Many writers stated that the forefathers of Mizos came out from a big cave called "Chhinlung". Scholars are skeptical and they cannot accept the idea that a nation or tribe cannot simply come out from the hole of a cave. It is important to unearth the truth as to who are the Kuki-Chin-Mizo or Chhinlung Chhuak? Where do they come from? Where they lived in the past and now? etc
In order to trace out the existence of the Kuki-Chin-Mizos, we have to go back to 1689 B.C. In 1689 B.C. the old man Jacob was lying on his dying bed. He was very old indeed. His second youngest son Joseph knew that his father was dying. Joseph brought his two sons Mennasseh and Ephraim before his father Jacob. Joseph put Ephraim at Jacob's left handed Manasseh at his right. But Jacob crossed his hands, against protest made by Joseph, so Jacob put his right hand on the head of Ephraim even though he was the younger and his left hand on the head of Manasseh. Then he blessed them: -
"The Angel which redeemed me from all evils, bless the lads, and let my name be named on them; and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac: and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the Earth". Gen. 48: 16.
Now we are going to tell how the descendents of Ephraim and Manasseh multiplied themselves at the midst of the Earth - i.e. Asia continent. As we know in the history, the descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh are completely lost from the rest of Israel. The people of Israel are still looking forward to the return of Ephraim and Manasseh. in order to locate the whereabouts of the descendents of Ephraim and Manasseh, we have to open pages of different Books. During the reign of Ahaja in Judah, Peka was the king of Israel. These two kings were not in good relationship, Peka wanted to destroy Ahaja. So he invited Regina, King of Suriya and attached Ahaja in 735 B.C. Surprisingly they could not take over the city of Jerusalem. (II Kings 16:1-6).
Ahaja, King of Juda was very angry and he wanted to take revenge. So he invited Tiglath Pileser, King of Assuria to attack the King of Suriya. In order to please Tiglath Pileser, Ahaja took silver and gold from the house of the Lord and presented the same to Tigalth Pileser. But they could not destroy the city of Samari which was the capital of Israel. However, they took over the city of Damascus (Damasea) which was the capital of Suria. (I! Kings: 16:9-10).
The King of Juda became a friend of Assuria. This is very strange. The king of Assuria was the descendent of Ham. So soon after the war, Pileser died of sun shock.
Salmansera succeeded Tiglath Pileser in 722 B.C. In the same year, Salmansera with the help of Ahaja, King of Judah, defeated the ten tribes of Israel. So Salmansera ruled over the ten tribes. Surprisingly, when the war was over, Salmansera even annexed Judah to his kingdom. So the ten tribes became the slaves of Assuria. (Isaiah 8:5-10).
In 740 B.C. the king of Assuria defeated Leo Pharoah - the King of Egypt. The King of Assuria then sent Ephraims and Manassehs to Egypt to be the slaves of Assurian Army and other tribes were left in Assuria. This is the beginning of how the Ephraims and Manassehs were lost in history. From Egypt they went hither and thither and their history could not be traced for many many years. Hence, many Israel prophets predicted about the whereabouts and conditions of these two tribes. These two tribes were completely lost from the rest of Israel.
The Judah and Benjamin tribes still occupied Southern portion of Israel. But God was unhappy with Judah and Benjamin. So God allowed them to go through persecution, tortures and sufferings. (Jer. 25:1-14, II kings 24:1, II Chro. 36:5-7, Daniel 1:1-5, Jer. 7:34, Jer. 16:9, Dan. 9:2).
In 597 B.C. Nebukanezer, King of Babylon defeated the king of Assuria. All Israel slaves were removed from Assuria and transferred to Babylon. During this time, Zedekia was the king of Judah and Benjamin. So Nebukanesar annexed Israel to his Kingdom and he became the ruler of Babylon, Assuria, Egypt and Israel. The ten tribes were kept in Babylon as slaves and the two tribes Ephraim and Mannassea were sent to Egypt to become slaves again.
